The beautiful Ahagaar Mountains make for a great outing. Tours of the mountain range are available either on foot or in four-wheelers. On Mount Tahat, the highest peak of the range is the mountain hermitage of Pere de Foucauld. The place is popular with campers and trekkers.
Tamanrasset offers some of the best desert scenery in the world. Also seen here are ancient rock carvings and artifacts that tell of an intriguing past.
