At present, Algeria’s economy is primarily dependent on oil and agriculture. Globally, it is the fourth-largest exporter of gas. It also exports cattle and horses; animal products; wine, cereals, vegetables and fruit; iron ore, zinc, natural phosphates, timber and tobacco. The average daily cost of living for a tourist is about 10 DA to 300 DA; an average meal costs anywhere between 3 DA to 45 DA. When in Algeria, travelling by taxis is a cheaper option if you’re in a group.
