Tlemcen displays a beautiful mix of Islamic and French architecture. The Great Mosque of Tlemcen and the Ville Nouvelle, the French part of the city, are worth a visit.
Tlemcen is home to the tombs of Sid Bou Mediene and Houari Boumedienne, the second president of Algeria. The tombs are very beautiful and worth a visit. While in Tlemcen, also pay a visit to the Sid Bou Mediene Mosque, the Mansourah Fortess and the Almohad ramparts.
The city is home to some prehistoric caves and ancient sites. The ancient Roman military site, the first Arab-Islamic settlement of Agadir and the prehistoric caves are open to the public.
