The Sao Filipe city is located on the Fogo Island in the state of Cape Verde. The city of Sao Filipe is actually a rural type area and is the most underdeveloped area in the entire region of Cape Verde. The only thing nice in the city other than rural area is that the city has the highest literacy rate compared to other cities. The city has covered almost half of the Fogo Island and has a sufficient amount of land for settlement and agriculture. The city cultivates major of its food on its own and also sells the agricultural products in the market of the neighboring cities like Sao Filipe which don’t have their own agricultural lands. The Indian Ocean has a major impact on the climate of the city. The climate in the city is generally mild and sometimes it gets severe as per the changes in the Indian Ocean. When the last census was measured in the year 2005 the population of the city of Sao Filipe was around 27,826. The Sao Filipe city comprises a total geographical area of around 40 square kilometers.
