Tadjoura: Attractions and more...
Tadjoura is also called La Ville Blanche, the White Town. Every house here has whitewashed walls, which make for an intriguing sight. The locals pour out onto the streets and towards the waterfront every afternoon for a stroll. It is the best time to absorb the culture of the town.
Religious architecture dots the town with several impressive mosques around.
Tadjoura has a beautiful and unspoilt coastline. The beaches are welcoming and facilitate diving and snorkelling. Sites include Ras Ali, Ras Ouan, Trevally Valley, Alices Fault and Sables Blancs. The coral reefs in particular are spectacular and fairly close to the shore. The marine life includes large schools of trevally, barracuda, batfish, giant reef rays and turtles.
