The Roman Amphitheater is located in the modern area of Kom El-Dikaa and is in the center of the Alexandria city. This theater dates back from 2nd century AD and is a large auditorium. This theater is about 42 meters in diameter and has 16 rows of marble seats. The outer side of the building was adorned with columns which are located in many storeys. The theater was rebuilt many times.

Right in the middle of the city! 13 tiered rows of marble seats and a couple of the original mosaic floor sections can be seen. This was discovered when new housing was to be built and construction was halted once found.
