There are plenty of nightlife options in Cairo. Most popular are the baladi bars, which are intentionally called 'cafeterias' to cover the fact that they sell alcohol.

Although a little rough, these bars are perfectly safe. But since it is essentially a male domain, women travelers might feel a bit uncomfortable. The Sharia Alfy area around the Midan Orabi offers a mesmerizing nightlife. The fun goes on till the wee hours and you will still find some places that are open 24 hours.
