The town centre is full of small busy bazaars and mosques, reflecting typical Egyptian life. Further inland are the Desert Mountains, which offer desert tours.
Hurghada is a centre for aquatic sports; windsurfing, sailing, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling and diving. The unique underwater gardens are an extraordinary experience. You can view exotic fish and coral reefs through glass bottom boats or take the unique submarine ride on offer.
The city is a gateway to some of the most exquisite diving sites in the Red Sea, providing access to many uninhabited offshore reefs and islands.
Marine Museum is a marine biology station and also has a small aquarium.
Hurghada is known as a party town. It has clubs and discos that are open well into the night. The most well known are Calypso and Papas Beach. Also visit the popular Alf Leila Wa Leila (One thousand and one nights). This open-air arena is renowned for belly dancing and Arabic and Nubian folklore.
