The Valley of Queens, on the west bank of Luxor, is a famous tourist spot in Egypt.
This site houses around 80 tombs of queens, nobles and the royal children of the seventeenth to the twentieth dynasties. The architecture of the tombs is almost the same with a long corridor, ante-chambers and the burial chamber. These tombs do not bear major paintings or inscription and are very simple.
However, The Valley of Queens is still an important tourist destination because of the Tomb of Queen Nefertaris, the favourite queen of Ramses II, in particular. This tomb is the most beautiful with paintings pertaining to the queen’s beauty and her inclination towards religion. The most beautiful painting is that of Nefertaris offering milk to Goddess Hathor. Other tombs worth visiting are the Tomb of Khaemwese, Tomb of Queen Titi and the Tomb of Amenhikhopeshef.Web Site: http://touregypt.net/queens.htm
