Lake Manzala is situated to the west of the Port Said and is the great expanse consisting of reed beds and marshland with numerous water bird species. This lake is located in the north eastern edge of the Nile Delta. This lake is also the largest lake of Egypt’s Mediterranean wetlands and also the most productive for the fisheries. This lake is 60 kilometers long and 40 kilometers wide with an average depth of 1.3 meters.
