It is a pity that the locals try to charge the tourists additional rates for taking a ride on the Hantour or a horse ride. Do not pay more than twenty five pounds and call the police if the locals pester you too much.
There are weather warnings about the increasing height of waves given by the BMG from time to time and ferries are expected to heed these warnings to remain safe.
Passengers are required to get information about such warnings before taking a boat or ferry ride at Port Said. Learning some Arabic can help in understanding and communicating with the locals.
There is a rise in the sea levels due to global warming which is threatening the coastal regions of Egypt and the people residing near the coasts. This in turn is bound to affect agriculture, industry and the economy of the country as well.
