A good range of traditional Egyptian souvenirs can be found around the many shops, bazaars and shopping centres in Sharm el Sheikh. These include jewellery, leather goods, painted papyruses, postcards, rugs, silk shawls, and vases to name but a few.
You will find four kinds of shops in the city. These include jewelry shops, clothes shops, perfume shops and shops with everything else.
Shopping in Sharm el Sheikh is a particularly memorable experience, since most shopkeepers will expect you to haggle, and will be insulted if you don’t. Most will try and tempt you into their shop, including asking you to sign their guest book, help them write something in English, or translate a letter from a relative. Don’t be fooled! A polite 'No' should suffice and just walk on.
This is normal behavior and they won’t be offended.
