Tourist Guide Malabo
Malabo, the capital city of Equatorial Guinea, is located on the northern coast
of Bioko Island.
It has a population of approximately 38,000 people.
City founders have been the British in 1827, who leased the island from Spain
during the colonial period.
Named Port Clarence, the original city was used as a naval station while trying
to suppress the slave trade.
At present it is a very picturesque city with graceful Spanish buildings and
attractive views across the harbour.
