As the northern part of the country is notable for its historical relics, there are the Omotic tribes of the South who still adhere to ancient animistic rituals.
Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa and transfer to Hilton Hotel. In the afternoon, sightseeing tour of Addis which includes Ethnological Museum at Addis Ababa University, the Merkato, a grand open market, and other interesting sites.
Day 2: Drive to the southwestern region of Ethiopia. Visit at Melka Kunture archeological site & Adadi Mariam cave church that dates back to the 13th century and gives a good indication of Lalibela rock-hewn churches of the 12th century. Picnic lunch on the way. After that, continue driving to Tia stele through the beautiful village of Gurage and Silte that include the colorful Saturday market of one of the Gurage area.
Day 3: Continue driving to Arbaminch, in Amharic meaning 40 springs. There you'll admire very interesting views and the Gurage, Silte and Wolayta people, their villages and culture, the cultivation of the false banana tree (from which roots they extract their traditional bread, the kotcho).
Day 4: Early morning breakfast and drive to lake Chamo for a boat excursion to see the Crocodile Market and the Hippos. (Here crocodiles are some of the longest in Africa, with length of 8 and also above meters). After that lunch will be at konso. Then continue to Jinka on the way visiting Tsemay and Bena tribe.
Day 5: Early morning Drive to Mago National Park, to the banks of the Omo River, to visit the Mursi people and villages. You'll admire these tribes where for beauty women use to put clay plates into their lips, men have different scarification and more particularities. Visit their way of life in the villages.
Day 6: Drive to Murulle; en-route picnic lunch and visit Karo tribe in Dus. Drive to Murulle for a camping night in Rift Valley Safari lodge compound.
Day 7: After breakfast drive to Kangate to visit Egnangatom (Bume) tribe. Cross Omo River by boat to reach the tribe village. After lunch visit the Koricho village and the Karo tribal village.
Day 8: Set out with picnic lunch and drive southwest to Omorate, where you'll visit the Everyday market and the Geleb tribe, one of the nomadic people of the Omo region. Visit the village and drive to Turmi.
Day 9: After breakfast, drive to Dimeka to visit the famous Colorful Saturday market of the Hamer, Bena and Karo tribes respectively at Dimeka villages. Tthese tribes are famous for their hairstyles, scarification, culture and more. In the afternoon you'll attend bull jumping ceremony, one of the Hammer traditional ritual for a Youngman to be transfer manhood.
Day 10: After breakfast, drive to Konso. During your trip, you'll visit Elbore, Tsemay and the famous Konso village, including the Konso traditional King house. The Konso people are known for their close-knit homesteads terracing of their hilly farmlands and wonderful wooden artifacts.
Day 11: Early in the mooring drive to Yabelo, a good base to make the excursion to the House of Salt and the Borena Oromo village. Drive to reach the village called El Sod where the house salt can be visited by hiking down 2km which is a deep Crater Lake. Drive back to Yabelo.
Day 12: After breakfast drive to Wondo Genet. On the way proceed to Borena village. Drive to Wondo Genet for the night.
Day 13: Return to Addis, visiting the about three Rift Valley Lakes. Lunch in Ziway town at local hotel.

Day 1: after flying an hour, you will arrive at Bahirdar Airport and transfer to camping area where a boat excursion over Lake Tana to the Zeghie peninsula is waiting for you. You are going to visit the two beautifully painted churches that are found hidden in the small forest: Azoa Mariam and Ura Kidane Miheret, on the way you will have the chance to over view Kibran Gebriel and Entos Monastery and the outlet of the Blue Nile river. In the afternoon you'll have a window shopping at Bahirdar market.
Day 02: in the morning you'll have a 70 km round trip to visit Tississat, named after the water falls of the Blue Nile River (the life blood for the Sudanese and Egyptians). You will walk about an hour to arrive near to the water falls on Blue Nile, so it's better for you wear appropriate clothes that match with hot weather and good shoes. In the afternoon, your city tour of Bahirdar will include a drive to the former residence of Haile Selassie I with the panoramic view point over the town of Bahirdar, the Blue Nile and lake Tana.
Day 03: morning drive to Gondar and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon you will be taken to visit the castle compound where you can see the medieval castle of the Kings before visiting the churches of Debre Birhan Selassie with awesome wall paintings and the bath of King Fasilidas.
Day 04: flight to Lalibela, the world heritage city. After 45 minutes flight, you will arrive at Shimshaha and start to visit the 1st group churches which includes Bieta Medhanialem (Chapel of Holy Savior), the biggest, and Bieta Mariam (Chapel of Mary). Further visit of Bieta Denagel (Chapel of the Virgins), Bieta Meskel (Chapel of the cross) and finally, the “double-church” of Debre Sina and Bieta Golghotha (women are not allowed in the latter since it’s where the remains of King Lalibela are and also because it contains the tabernacle of the Holy Trinity). In the afternoon there's secondo grouo pf Churches to visit.
Day 05: in Lalibela you will have optional mule excursion to Asheten Mariam church situated at a very hill top, to see the town of Lalibela and the surrounding attraction. In the afternoon, you'll be driven to the charming semi–cave church of Neakutoleab, a church of the early 13th century.
Day 06: from Lalibela to Axum. After 40 minutes flight, you will arrive at Axum Airport and start to visit the historical sites of Axum including the St. Mary church (where the Arc of the covenant is said to be kept) and the stele park. In the afternoon you'll visit the ruins of the former palace of Queen of Sheba (Dungur Palace), the ruins of the former tombs of King Kaleb and his successor King Gebre Meskel.
Day 07: to Mekele. On the way you'll visit Yeha Temple, the first civilization place in Ethiopia before Axum.
Day 08: to Hammed Ela. After the small town of Agula, we descend to the Afar Region. You will see too many camel caravans, transporting rock salt from Lake Asalé to the town of Mekelle at many spots on the road. As we penetrate deep down to the region, the temperature becomes hotter and hotter. Lunch at the small town of Berahile (110km from Mekelle), where entrance tickets will be collected too. Then we Proceed towards Hammed Ela with the accompany of polices and a local guide from Berahile. Overnight camping at Afar House.
Day 09: in the early morning, excursion to the Danakil depression. You will be overwhelmed with a strong feeling of admiration, because of the awesome of Dallol. Later, proceed to the traditional salt extraction site from where too many camel caravans are waiting to be loaded rock salts just nearby the Salt Lake of Asalé. Then approach to Lake Asalé. In the late afternoon explore the Afar village of Hammed Ela.
Day 10: Kursewad-Waydodom Morning; drive from Hammed Ela towards Arte Ale (78 km dirty road) via Kursewad. Take some rest (lunch) at Kursewat. At about 3 pm, after arranging camels for Arte Ale Mountain at Kursewad, drive to Waydodom and then towards Arta Ale (13 km from Waydodom).
Day 11: in the early Morning, Trek to Arte Ale with your camping and cooking gears being loaded by Afar Camels (3-4 hours trek). After lunch, explore the extraordinary lava that bounce from its mouth of Erte Ale active volcanic fire. During night time the volcano will be fully seen with its magnificent color of zigzagging fire, produced from huge rocks.
Day 12: discover all sites around the Arte Ale area and descend down towards where your cars are camped. There, take your lunch and drive to Lake Afdera. In the Afternoon, visit the Salt Lake of Afdera. It is here where you can see people extracting edible salt in large quantity and transport it on trucks to Addis Ababa.
Day 13: Awash National Park. Drive from Afdera to Awash Sebat. Have lunch at Logia and proceed to the town of Awash Sebat overlooking the Yangu di Rassa National Park and Awash River; the only river that waters the desert area of the Afar Region.
Day 14: to Harar, passing through the Churcher and Arba Gugu mountains, is splendidly scenic and worth taking. Up on arrival take rest and you will be taken to visit the hyena man.
Day 15: visit to the walled city of Harar, “the Jugol wall”, and to the beautiful market, the Harari people way of life and all the activities in Harar. Harar is regarded as the the spiritual home of Ethiopian’s large and ancient Muslim community. Late afternoon you will drive to visit another beautiful town DireDawa.
Day 16: Dire Dawa-Langano Drive through the Great East African Rift valley to Langano, one of the best place for recreation.
Day 17: to Bale Mountain National Park. Enjoy the very interesting scenery, Dinsho, the head quarter of the park, with the best chance to observe most of the characteristics of fauna and flora of the park.
Day 18: Bale Mountain. Early in the morning leave your hotel for excursion to the Senetie plateau around 4000 meters above sea level covered with afro Alpine plants. Further drive to Mount Tulu Dimtu, the second highest place in the country with altitude of 4377 meters above sea level.
Day 19: Bale-Sofomar-Bale. Our day tour will take us to Sofomar, the largest underground river cave in the country. The thorny bushes of this lowland is producing a large number of bird species.
Day 20: Bale-Addis Ababa. Morning drive to Addis via the Rift Valley over viewing the rift valley lakes admiring wonderful views, endemic birds, pelicans, flamingoes. Proceed to Debrezeit for visiting the crater lake. Arrive to Addis and attend the farewell dinner in the best Ethiopian restaurant with live music and Ethiopian delicious meal with free of charge.
