Abidjan is sometimes referred to as the Paris of West Africa. With its beautiful parks, broad boulevards, outdoor cafes, and chic boutiques, the city is vibrant and teeming with energy. At the heart of town is the modernistic St. Paul’s Cathedral.
The National Museum of Contemporary Art has an excellent collection of African art and craftsmanship on display.
There is a huge African market in Treichville; on any given day you’ll find thousands of busy merchants hawking their wares.
The Hotel Ivoire is an entertainment zone. With a skating rink, a casino, a bowling alley, a movie theater, tennis courts and a supermarket all under one roof, it is always packed with an enthusiastic crowd.
The Cocody district is the most expensive area of the city. Its striking architecture and sculptured gardens represent the best of Abidjan.
The Banco National Park, on the outskirts of Abidjan, is a 7,500 acre tropical rain forest.
