Côte d’Ivoire is one of the most prosperous African countries with an agricultural economy. Around 60% of the population are employed in agriculture. Côte d'Ivoire is one of the world's leading coffee and cocoa producers. Timber is vital to the country’s economy. Political instability, however, continues to hinder its growth.
