The cool, dry period from November to February is the best time to visit the country. During the period of May to July, the rains may impede visits to beaches and parks. During December, the dusty harmattan winds reduce visibility.

One of Côte d'Ivoire’s most famous festivals is the Fêtes des Masques (Festival of Masks), held in November, where the villagers pay homage to the forested spirits embodied in the masks.
