Malindi has 155 kilometres of coastline with idyllic and wonderful beaches
fringed with swaying palm trees, for the delight of the many tourists.
Watamu and Malindi Marine Parks were established in 1968 and are full of incredible
fish and lovely variety of corals. Wonderful places for immersions are there.
Vasco Da Gama Pillar, is one of the oldest remaining monuments in Africa and
it was built in 1498 by the great Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama.
The pillar tombs, built in the 15th century as burial grounds for renowned Portuguese.
Mida Creek, located south of Malindi along the Mombasa-Malindi road, is a fantastic
creek which covers an area of 32 square kilometres and is composed of extensive
mudflats and mangrove forests that attract a great variety of flora and fauna.
The mysterious Gede Ruins deserve a visit, too.
