Kisumu Museum is a natural and social history exhibit. Apart from ancient relics, rock art, and nature displays, there is a full scale recreation of a traditional Luo homestead.
Kisumu Impala Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve, home to a herd of impalas, hippos and reptiles and birds. It is also a rehabilitation centre for distressed animals.
Hippo Point is a viewing area on Lake Victoria. Along with hippos, you can catch an African sunset here.
Other sites include Mount Elgon National Park, Kakamega Forest, Saiwa Swamp, Ndere Island National Park, the Mikaye rock—a weeping rock and the local Kibuye market.
Kisumu is popular for Fish (Tilpia) eating along the lake and for its benga music.
