Meru is a small town in the counterparts of East Kenya. Based on the famous Kavitha River, it forms a part of the north eastern slopes of the Kenyan mountain ranges. It is also a municipal council. It is also the headquarters of the Meru Central District which is an important place in east Kenya. It is also a municipal council. The population here is nicely built-up and has strength of a little more than fifty thousand. It is a cool place, whose beautiful climatic conditions are achieved because of its altitude of more than 5000 feet. The people here are a bit backward and still exist in the form of tribes. The Meru tribe gains the majority population intake here. The town is made up of small forests at regular intervals. There are small towns, villages and farms that give us a hint of rural areas. The area has gained importance because it is very close to Mount Kenya which is one of the highest peaks in this area.
