The ‘Old Town’ reminds one of days when Mombasa was under the reign of Portuguese. Houses go on to feature flamboyantly carved balconies and doors; that are conventional to architecture pertaining to East Africa. Inhabitants of the town have their roots in Arabia. Old Town has gained reputation for its age-old buildings, shops selling Kenyan souvenirs and antiques, and sumptuous art designs.
