This airport is the busiest and the biggest airport all over Central and East Africa. Right now, it is undergoing expansion; which is expected to increase capacity by nearly 3-folds. It began in the year 2006. Number of ‘passengers’ has moved well beyond four million. However, capacity at present is just 2.5 million. There is a likelihood of aircraft parking and taxiway areas of being increased substantially.
