Greenville is the capital of Sinoe County in the country of Liberia in Western Africa. The city is located about 350 km away from Monrovia and is situated on a lagoon near the Sinoe River.
The city is typified by a tropical climate. The average temperature hovers around 30°C throughout the year. The city receives maximum rainfall in the months of May and June.
Greenville is home to about 8,500 inhabitants. The town suffered massive destruction during the Liberian Civil War and is slowly rebuilding itself. It used to be a major sea port of Liberia but is now primarily used for the local logging industry.
Although Greenville does not boast of the best roads, it can be more conveniently reached through the passenger boat services, coastal streamers and canoe safaris.
