Tukra: Attractions and more...
Step into this ancient town through the entrance of an aged yet charming Turkish Fort. Although it does not have a lot of attractions compared to the ancient cities of the Pentapolis, it does boast of Roman ruins, a Byzantine church and a shipwreck (which can be seen from the entrance to the town), making it well worth the detour into the hills of Jabal Akhdar.
Although there are no hotels, restaurants or other tourist facilities in Tukra, it does maintain an untouched appearance which enables visitors to have an idea of how the ancient residents of the region used to live.
Tukra’s Village Centre is quite photogenic, but can get quite hectic and lively during market day. Several tourist festivals are also held in the Green Mountains region.Related Contents
