The desert tour is a trip which runs twice between December to January. There is also a festival which takes place and one can enjoy the trip to the desert. Many of such tours are to Mali and stops in Djenne. Some of the desert tours include 13 days to 15 days of tours. At the end of the rainy season, from August to September, Djenne is at its most picturesque as it turns into an island.
