Mauritius is one of the fastest growing economies. Traditionally, a sugar dependant economy; today, Mauritius has diversified its base to include financial services, data processing, textiles and tourism.

The average daily cost of living for a tourist is about 7500 MUR to 9000 MUR; an average meal costs anywhere between 200 MUR to 350 MUR.  The local buses are a great way to get around; alternatively, you could rent a bike.
