The Chinatown has a fascinating atmosphere and the Chinese culture is kept alive here. One can smell the spicy aromas which waft out through the small restaurants and which also engulf the whole area lending it a mystic aura. Chinatown is home to the Jummah Mosque that was built in 1853 and which has complicated teak doors and decorations. The tourists too visit Chinatown for paying respect to the Pere Laval’s shrine which has healing powers.
