Things to Do in El Jadida: attractions to See in El Jadida

El Jadida: Attractions and more...

The Medina (old town) also known as the Cite Portugaise is the main attraction of El Jadida. Built in the typical European style, the walls which used to encircle the village give the best views of the city. The Bastion St. Antione is flanked with several vendors selling local wares.

There are also several chapels tucked away in the corners of the old town; the Church of Assumption is the one with the highest tower. In the Portuguese Cistern, the reflections of the roof and the play of the shadows on the columns make for an interesting visit.

El Jadida is a popular resort town especially with the Moroccans themselves. The main town beach is not the best or the cleanest but attracts the crowds because of its location. The beaches further away from the city are better. The beach of Sidi Bouzid, outside El Jadida has all the amenities to attract tourists.

Casablanca, one of the richest and most stylish cities of the country is not very far from El Jadida.
