Tourist Guide Kelaa Mgouna
Kelaa Mgouna, or El Kelaa as it is sometimes known, is located in the High Atlas region in central Morocco. It is an oasis in the Dades valley watered by the Me Goun River. The village itself is perched on a small hill.
Springtime, that is, the months of April and May, are the best time to visit Kelaa Mgouna. Summer and winter temperatures are extreme and the climate is arid throughout the year.
The oasis of Kelaa Mgouna is the centre of rose cultivation in Morocco. The region is home to more than 4,000 rose hedges which are used to produce rose water in two local factories.
