The Souks of Marrakech are a must-see for every traveller to Morocco.
The surprisingly small area is full of zest and life with complicated and masked shadows offering some of the most fascinating sights.
The Souk covers only a square kilometre area; everything is so compact that it makes the visit all the more enjoyable. Some of the most popular areas are the Dyer's Souk, where skins and brightly coloured wool are hung out to dry.
The Slipper Souk is a place where you can watch all kinds of sandals and shoes being made while the inevitable.
Carpet Souk is another place worth visiting. One of the loudest places is the fascinating Blacksmith's Souk, where welders make sparks fly and the constant noise of banging vibrates through your body.
The fingers bend and shape the metal into beautiful lanterns or ornate chairs and later receive a final, shiny layer of lacquer before drying in the hot sun.
A visit to the Souks of Marrakech certainly stimulates your senses and will definitely provide a memorable experience.
