The Mausoleum of Mohammed V, constructed in 1971, includes the graves of the Moroccan king Mohammed V and his sons, late Prince Abdallah and King Hassan II.
The structure is famous for its excellent art work of modern dynasty architecture designed by Vo Toan, a Vietnamese architect, with its white outline, topped by a characteristic green lined roof.
The inner pavilion is a place where one will find royal guards in red uniform, while the guards on horseback are found around the outer walls adjacent to the complex.
Visitors can walk up the staircase, stroll around the magnificent pavilion and enjoy the view from the platform that surrounds the three tombs. At the centre, there is the white marble tomb of Mohammed V which predominates.
The inside of the pavilion has superb decoration with swirling patterns, gold trim, star-like lights and ornate tiled walls.
The exterior of the pavilion has richly decorated roofs, beautiful sliding entry doors and splendidly carved white marble walls.
