Namibia : Attractions

The country is known for its national parks. The Etosha National Park is characterised by savannah to the west and woodland to the east. The flat, saline desert of the Etosha Pan attracts a variety of wildlife during winter. Sossusvlei, in the Namib-Naukluft Park, contains some of the highest sand dunes in the world. The views offered by the Fish River Canyon are simply breathtaking.

Swakopmund is a popular seaside town with many tourist attractions, while the town of Walvis Bay is home to pink flamingos and other species of birds.

Those who prefer unconventional places can visit the Skeleton Coast, considered to be the world’s most inhospitable waterless area. The Spitzkoppe, located in the dusty plains of southern Damaraland, is popular among local and foreign rock climbers.

History enthusiasts will not be disappointed with the Duwisib Castle, the Christuskirche in Windhoek and Tintenpalast, the parliament building.
