Outjo is a small town in north-western Namibia . Set in a cluster of low hills and woodland savannah, it has a population of about 5000 inhabitants.
The town experiences semi-arid climate . The summer temperature can reach up to 42C, while night winter temperature can reach as low as -5C.
Outjo began as a small military base in 1897 . Today it is known as a stop over for visitors heading towards the Etosha National Park or the Skeleton Coast .
A Cattle ranching country, Outjo serves the local farming community and supplies meat to markets throughout the country and for export.
