The dry winter season from May to October is the best time to visit Namibia as the climate is warm and sunny. Visiting between December and March is not advisable as it gets hot and uncomfortable.

Maherero Day is an important event for the Herero people who gather in traditional attire at Okahandja to commemorate the chiefs killed in the Khoi-Khoi and German wars.
