Windhoek, Namibia’s capital, lies at an altitude of 1650 metres in a
pretty valley bordered by the Eros Mountains in the north and the Auas mountains
in the south.
It is situated in almost the exact centre of Namibia.
Windhoek is the country's largest city and its administrative, communication,
and economic centre. It is also one of the world's major trade centres for Karakul
sheep skins.
At the end oh 19th century, Windhoek was the capital of the German colony of
South West Africa. And the influence of the German language and culture is,
after all this years, still alive: there are many German restaurants with traditional
German dishes, beer, and even a German carnival. Moreover, Windhoek combines
the modern city architectural style with that of the German colonial era.
Windhoek has an international airport 45 kilometres out of town.
Whk is a beautiful city with its good natural structured landforms. The development of the city is growing too fast on a abnormal rate speed. City of whk need to reconstruct the city map to provide enough open spaces as landscaping design in case the city is growing and in the future to have a city of good impression and free impression relating the nature structure of the city with new/modern construction.
Safety measures must be put in place, because one does not feel safe at at the the Capital city. More Police officers must be employed. The employment rate in the city is also very high. Self-help projects must be initiated especially for the youth. The tourism industry is grow, you can see tourism especially at city centre which is a good thing.
In my opinion WHK lack has a lack of safe wellcoming entertainment. Transport i would say is ok, if you consider local taxis only, there rest are overprised. There is a need to see the police around more, to get the sense of feeling safe.
It is affordable.
Very useful, and enjoyable place to be, tourist attraction, more free space, and is very very safe and is the clean city in the word, an most park just like paradise, although you can genelate income even if you are not working
If you are walking, always be on the look out for harmful and unwanted company. Its best not to speak to strangers unless you realy feel safe and do not carry your valuables around or else keep them out of sight.
Its one of the best place to be and i think it's suitable for any type of person religion, entertains or even party people, its growing and have a lot of opportunities for businesses.
Good work for CoW.. I like what the entire CoW management is doing... good plans, environment is being looked for, very clean city, very safe and is a livable city.
Life is becoming very expensive, shortage of land. High price of electricity tarific as well water. Safety is better if compared to previous two years.
