Flora and Fauna
Denis' 350 acres is home to a varied vegetation that commences with a ring of velutier around the island. The interior of the island features such trees as casuarina, badamier, takamaka, bois blanc and bois mapou with a grass and herb flora typical of most other sand cays.
The island hosts a population of lesser noddies and other sea and land birds that include frigates, white-tailed tropic birds, whimbrels, doves, wood pigeons, cardinals and mynahs.
The island is the recent beneficiary of a successful project to introduce endangered
species of birdlife.
