The Botanical Garden in Mahe was established around 1901 in the capital city of Victoria, Seychelles.
The city itself is situated between the port and the foot hills of forested mountain ranges that make way to the famous Mahe Island.
The botanical garden located at the southern edge of Victoria city is a ‘must’ for visiting tourists. The garden is a panorama, featuring native flowers, flora and fauna along with many tropical plants.
The garden contains the “Coco de Mer” palm tree which is the symbol of the Seychelles.
The garden is also home to many other palms, flowers and fruit trees.
The centre of attraction of this Botanical Garden is the small giant tortoise park and the rain forest walk. The Seychelles flying fox, otherwise known as the fruit bat, are the other major attractions of this garden.
The garden, spread over an area of 15 acres, is just amazingly laid out and it is easy to find solace and relaxation.
