Tourist Guide Victoria
Victoria (sometimes called Port Victoria) is the capital of Seychelles, an African archipelago of 115 islands located in the Indian Ocean. The city is located on Mahé, which is the largest and most populated island in the archipelago. Built on land reclaimed from the sea, it is the only port of the country and houses the Seychelles International Airport.
The tropical climate of Victoria allows for an all-year-round influx of tourists. The average temperature stands at around 30°C. December to April is the hottest period in the year; temperatures cool during the months of May to September. The heat and humidity is usually regulated by the sea breeze. The islands lie outside the cyclone belt.
Victoria is home to almost 80% of Seychelles’ total population. Nearly 25,000 people of different ethnicities call the city their home.
