Sandton is a very young municipality, only formed on the 1 July 1969. It lies
on the northern edge of Johannesburg and got its name from a combination of
the two suburbs Sandown and Bryanston.
Sandton is considered the retail and financial powerhouse of Southern Africa
and is home to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and numerous banking institutions.
Its just a beautiful place to be in. The ambience is fantastic, there is variety in terms of where to shop and there are a lot of places to have meals at. In a nutshell one is spoilt for choice. You can walk at night because it's safe and secure and there is a fantastic network of transport.
