Tourist Guide Sun City
Surrounded by the slopes of the Pilanesberg Mountains, Sun City is a popular South African resort in the North West Province and is known world over for its luxurious hotels, casinos, entertainment centres and gourmet restaurants.
Just a two-hour drive from Johannesburg, the city is also a stone’s throw away from the Pilanesberg National Park, home to healthy populations of lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos.
Visitors to Sun City can experience pleasant weather all-year-round, with average temperatures in the day being 31°C from September to April and 22°C from May to August. It rains mostly during the months of November and February.
The resident population of Sun City is about 15,000, but the resort attracts around 25,000 people a day.
