Vereeniging town is located at the rail road and between the junction of crossing point of the two republics the Zuid Afrikaansche Republic and the republic of the Orange Free State.
The meaning of the word Vereeniging is uniting in African language that aptly describes that it is self sufficient state. In the year 1878 coal was discovered from the farm Leeuwkil and a town developed near the coal mine on the northern bank of Vaal River.
The town has now emerged as one of the busiest town and also one of the important industrial centers of South Africa with products such as cables, chains, steel tubing, farm implements and many other products. From the coal mines huge revenue is earned and can be estimated up to 4 billion tones with deposits of fire clay, and building stones are also mined.
The town is nestled in the lush greenery and the Vaal River beautifies the landscape. There are also recreational centers that are quite fascinating and draws tourist all over the worlds. People over her quite generous and welcomes visitors with a warm hospitality.
The climate of this place is quite comfortable and can be visited at any time of the year.
