The Blue Mosque is a well known historic mosque situated in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Along with other public buildings, this mosque was constructed in 1465 upon the order of the ruler of Kara Koyunlu, Jahan Shah. This construction is a monument as a tribute of Jahan Shah’s victories. Because of this, the Al-fath, a versus of Quran, is written around the entrance of the mosque. Tourists find this historic monument worth visiting whilst in Zanzibar.
