The town is dotted with traditional architecture; small houses made of red sand and straw roofs. Visit the big market here, especially on Wednesdays. Also head to the Artisanal, you can watch the local artisans at work and also find great souvenirs.
Visit the Cathedral Notre Dame. Built in year 1910 by the Germans it has intricate stain glass work and is also decorated with pictures of African saints who died in martyrdom. You can also see the shrine and the boat, in which the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared, near the lake.
Head to the Royal Palace of Chief Mlapa V. Watch the customary local court in action and also take a look at the royal museum, documenting the history of the royal family.
Togoville is known for its voodoo fetishes. In the Xetsavi quarter, there are two voodoo fetishes, one male and the other female. You’ll also find voodoo stores and shrines all over the town.
Lake Togo is good for sailing and water-skiing. You can go on a fishing excursion with the local fishermen or take a canoe across the lake and indulge in some bird-watching and quiet dishing.
