Cape Bon: Attractions and more...
Kerkouane is the most interesting site on the peninsula and has even found a place on UNESCO’s list of Heritage Sites. Many of the old houses are still found here with mosaics on the floors made of red pottery pieces and marble; several artefacts and jewels are also housed here. Different shapes and sizes of bathtubs made of red stone can also be seen here.
Kelibia is one of the larger towns of Cape Bon. The white houses along the clear blue waters of the sea and clean sandy beaches make for an interesting visit. The old fort perched upon a hillock along the coast is one of the primary attractions here.
Nabeul is the largest town on the Cape but has little to offer to the tourist. It is well known for the range of pottery that is found here and has even earned the title of the ‘capital of pottery’. The town has a beach but it is generally crowded and not very well maintained.
