Chott al-Jerid Lake is a large endorheic salt lake which is situated in southern Tunisia. This lake is also the largest salt pan of the Sahara having surface area of more than 7000 square kilometers. With extreme climate and annual rainfall of 100 mm, the temperature reaches up to50 degree Celsius. During this time, the water evaporates from the lake.
