The Tunisian economy has traditionally been an agriculture based economy. Today, however, the economy is in a process of liberalization and counts tourism, mining, energy and manufacturing as important sectors. The country’s main exports include agriculture produce, textiles, phosphate and other chemicals.
The average daily cost of living is about 100 TND to 200 TND; an average meal costs anywhere between 7 TND to 20 TND. Tunis has an excellent tram network.
