Hammamet: Streets, Squares and Neighbourhoods

Hammamet is an ancient town in Tunisia which is an hour’s drive from the airport. A number of hotels and resorts have been built in this region in the last few years and the climate is peaceful and pleasant.

The climate is suitable for water sport activities and golf all throughout the year. The casbah or citadel overlooks the Hammamet Bay and a harbour which is more of a cobbled beach where fishermen leave their boats for the night.

Surrounding this region, there are a number of shops, boutiques, cafes and a medina. The minaret of the mosque emerges out of the medina and this beautifully lit tower looks wonderful at night.

The place has become a popular area for the rich and famous as many of them have built luxurious villas here, while some have refurbished the old buildings to make them into residential quarters
