Aghlabid Basins was restored in the year 1969 and these two pools had more water when the Aghlabid palace was located and has now turned to a cemetery. One pool is smaller than the other and the smaller one flows in to the larges that comes to a total water capacity of 11 million gallons. In between the pools just at the centre there is one base of the pavilion where the rulers of the Aghlabid used to come and relax.
