La Marsa’s reputation for chic beaches remains intact with white sands and sparkling blue waters drawing hordes of visitors to bask in the African sun. Apart from the colonial style French villas and cosy restaurants, an interesting feature to visit is the market square which has buildings dating back to the ancient Hafsid period. At the end of the square is the entrance to the popular Cafe Saf-Saf, a curious joint which features a snow white camel drawing water from an artisan well.
La Marsa has a few hotels like Hotel Corinthia Khamsa and Hotel Golden Tulip Carthage Tunis which cater to the accommodation needs of tourists. A popular recommendation is the small, yet comfortable, Pension Prendl Hotel.
There are also a few restaurants offering various Tunisian specialties like Chorba (soup with lots of pepper), Guenaoia (lamb or beef stew with chillies and okra) and more.
