The Zaouia Zakkak lies next to the famous street shopping streets in medina and offers some of the finest illustrations of Ottoman architectures in Sousse. The minaret is octagonal in shape and the tile works and decorations are in blue green stone with design with roots in Andalucia. This is a historic building which dates back to the 17th century. This area is open for visitors and has 100 meters of tunnels which more than 15,000 graves.
